IRPC signed an MOU with FTI (The Federation of Thai Industries) on the Carbon Footprint for Organization Development Project for Industry Phase 7.

IRPC and The Boston Consulting Group (Thailand) signed a contract whereby the consulting company will serve as consultant for digital strategy planning, transforming IRPC into IRPC 4.0 and Thailand’s leading digital company of the energy sector. This collaborative effort strives to find innovative ways to apply modern technology to add value to IRPC processes, including Operation System (OPS 4.0), Integrated Supply Chain (ISC 4.0), Corporate Commerce & Marketing (CCM 4.0), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP 4.0).

IRPC signed an MOU on CAT-REAC industrial project (concerning catalysts and chemical reaction engineering) with the Thailand Research Fund, Chulalongkorn University, and the private industrial sector to enhance domestic R&D capabilities by applying innovative science and technology as a prototype “OPEN INNOVATION” to sharpen the R&D capability with which private companies cooperate in the research of catalysts in Thailand. The private and public sector will integrate their expertise to develop catalyst technologies for the petroleum and petrochemical industries

The signing of an MOU on PTT Rayong Academy between PTT Rayong Football Club and IRPC Technology College (IRPCT). In addition, youth footballers can choose to pursue vocational education with IRPCT, which is ready to support them and provide opportunities to pursue professional education.

IRPC and UOP LLC entered into a License Agreement and Engineering Agreement for Maximum Aromatics (MARS) Project. UOP LLC was selected as Technology Licensor of the project and will complete preliminary engineering design by 2018.

IRPC hosted a press conference regarding the IRPC 4.0 project, a key strategy driving the corporation toward digital leadership in the petrochemical sector by 2020. The project is under the “Power of Digital” GDP strategic plan, integrating digital and cutting-edge innovations into business processes to enhance operation optimization. It is expected that the added value will exceed THB 3.3 billion a year.

The Board approved divesture of an additional 25% of IRPC’s total paid-up capital in IRPC Polyol Co., Ltd., to PCC Rokita SA (PCCR), Poland, resulting in IRPC and PCCR holding 50:50. Entered a Memorandum of Trade Cooperation and Environmentally Friendly Product Development with Hatari Electric Company Limited to use new material Green ABS pellet, a new plastic polymer that replaced butadiene with material rubber for electric fan manufacturing. This new material has similar characteristics as ABS plastic pellet from petrochemicals. and is resistant to forceful stress but very elastic, that is, 4-8% higher elasticity than the petrochemical ABS. Production of electric fans with this new material offers an alternative choice for consumers who are more conscious of environmental protection and natural products. These products are also export to certain markets i.e. European and Latin American markets, where green regulations are strictly enforced.

Combined Heat and Power Project (CHP) The combined heat and power project has been fully completed and officially commencing since August 19, 2011 with an electricity generation capacity of 220 megawatts and 420 tons per hour of steam. As a result, the company can substitute fuel oil for steam turbines with cleaner natural gas, reduces 400,000 tons per year carbon dioxide emission and secures its power system.

Organized the 29th Thai Chamber of Commerce seminar at the IRPC port site, Rayong, on December 9, 2011, when the HTMS Chakri Naruebet was mooring at the IRPC Port as part of the emergency drill to use the IRPC Port as a strategic reserve port in case of emergency and natural disasters. The IRPC Port has been selected because of its capacity to handle the mooring of very large vessels as the deepest sea port in Thailand, with handling capability of both liquid and chemical cargoes with Asian regional import-export standard.

The Company entered into an agreement with two consulting firms namely GE Energy and General Carbon to propose its cogeneration power plant to the United Nations for the granting of Certified Emissions Reductions or carbon credit. The said project will reduce carbon emissions by 400,000 tons per year as a result of the shifting from fuel oil to natural gas which provide cleaner combustion.
