IRPC – BIG entered a contract for the production of nitrogen and oxygen.
On July 14, 2022, Mr. Chawalit Tippawanich, President & Chief Executive Officer Mr. Somkiat Lertritpuwadol, Senior Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy Planning and Business Development, IRPC Public Co., Ltd. Mr. Piyabut Charuphen, Managing Director and Mr. Anupong Kruesuwanvas, Senior Business Director, Bangkok Industrial Gas Co., Ltd. (BIG) signed a contract to produce nitrogen and oxygen for the refinery to support the production of Euro 5 standard low sulfur diesel fuel and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transportation and production processes. The total contract value is closed to Baht two billion and construction is expected to be completed in October 2023. Executives from both companies joined in congratulating the event at Centara Grand Hotel, Central Plaza Ladprao.
Nitrogen and Oxygen Air Separation Plant helps to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide (CO2) into the atmosphere which is in line with the company’s Net Zero Emission goal. The new air separation unit will help reduce the emission of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere as it is located near the point of use, hence, eliminates the need to transport which will effectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
